You are able to create as many groups as you'd like and there is no limit on how many members can be in each group.  Some clubs restrict who can create groups, or set a limit on group size - if yours does, you'll see that as you go.  But keep in mind that you can only create a group on our website at groupvalet.com - you cannot create one in our app.  Once you create the group and activity, members will see those in their app, and you can add members to your group from the app too.

First, let's define a couple of terms to make sure we're talking about the same thing.

Group - a collection of people that will be notified about certain activities.  Each person can decide whether or not they want to sign up for each activity. All group members will be notified about all the activities for the group.

Activity - an event that group members will be notified about. When you create the activity, you decide whether members can sign up for the activity, or if it's just an announcement (with no signups).  An activity can happen only on one date, or it can repeat on various schedules (three times a week, once a week, once every other week, the 3rd Tuesday of each month, etc).  There are numerous ways you can schedule your activity, but you only need to create it once no matter what the schedule is.

Participant - a person who has signed up for an activity.  At the end of the signup period, you will automatically receive the list of participants for that activity.

Now, let's discuss how to create a group and an activity.

1. Log into GroupValet at groupvalet.com.

2. At the top left, click Create a Group.

3. You will now go through the 3 steps for creating the group: Create Group, Create Activity, Add/Invite People.

4. Fill out the Create Group form.  If you're not sure what type of group you want to create, you can read about the different group types here.

5. Once the group is created, GroupValet automatically takes you to Create Activity.  If your club requires new groups to be approved, you will not continue to that step - you'll be returned to your Dashboard with a message that your group has been submitted for approval, and you'll be notified once it has been reviewed.

6. After the Activity is created, the last step is to add, or invite, members to the group.  If the group type is Independent, then your only option is to invite members by entering their email address.  Once each member accepts the invitation, they will be in the group.  If the group type is either Private or Public, you will be able to add members to the group and they will immediately be members of the group.  If you are not sure what the different group types are, you can read about them here.  Once a member is officially in the group, they will start to receive the notices based on the schedule you set up.
