If you're forming a group and your club or community is not yet a GroupValet customer, then your only option will be Independent. If your organization is a GroupValet customer, then you'll have the option of choosing what type of group you'd like to create.
Independent: Anyone in the world can be invited to an independent group. This is the only group type where members are invited and have to accept the invitation. You'll need each person's email to send the invitation.
Public: Only members of your club/community can be in this group type. Members can be added by you or anyone from your club/community can find this group via a search and join that way. There is no cost for this group type.
Private: Only members of your club/community can be in this group type. The only way people can become members is if you add them in. There is no cost for this group type.
Independent groups require a subscription to GroupValet. Private and Public groups do NOT require a subscription as they are covered by the parent organization's license.
